Terms of Service
[effective 2026-07-14 · startandship.com]
The plain-language version
You're buying access to a source-code repository, delivered instantly through GitHub. Use it to build as many of your own sites as you want (client sites need the Agency tier). 14-day no-questions refund. We promise working code — never rankings, citations, or income. Don't resell the kit itself.
Who you're buying from
Start & Ship (“the kit”) is created and maintained by an individual operator (“we,” “us”). Checkout and payment are handled by Polar (polar.sh) acting as the merchant of record — Polar processes your payment, issues your receipt, and handles applicable sales tax or VAT. Your purchase is also subject to Polar's own terms and privacy policy.
What the product is
The kit is a digital product: a production-ready Next.js codebase for content and review websites, plus documentation, delivered as read access to a private GitHub repository. A GitHub account is required to receive it. It is source code for technical builders — not a hosted service, not a page builder, and not a business-in-a-box.
The Founder Pro tier additionally includes three niche research dossiers, delivered by email within 7 days of purchase. Dossiers are research, not guarantees — see clause 07.
Delivery
Repository access is granted automatically to the GitHub account you connect at checkout, normally within minutes of payment. If delivery fails for any reason, contact us and we'll sort it out or refund you — whichever you prefer.
Your license
Your purchase grants a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the kit's code:
Founder and Founder Pro: build and operate an unlimited number of websites that you own.
Agency: everything above, plus white-label use for an unlimited number of client projects.
What no tier permits: reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing the kit or any substantial portion of it as a template, starter kit, boilerplate, or similar competing product — free or paid. The code remains our copyright; websites you build with it are yours.
Updates
“Lifetime updates” means every update we publish to the kit ships to the same repository, tagged, at no additional cost, for as long as the product exists. It is a promise about access to updates — not a commitment to any specific future feature, and not a maintenance SLA.
Refunds
Every tier carries a 14-day no-questions refund from the date of purchase, even though source code can't be un-downloaded — we choose to extend the trust. Email us or request the refund through Polar. Upon refund, your license ends and repository access is revoked. Refunds are reported (in aggregate, never with your identity) on our public revenue ledger.
What we don't promise
We make zero promises or predictions of traffic, search rankings, AI citations, revenue, or income of any kind. Nobody honest can. Any figures shown on our site are our own historical results, dated and verifiable — they are not projections of yours.
The kit is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You are responsible for your own sites, including their content, legal compliance (FTC disclosure, GDPR, and similar), and affiliate-program compliance — the kit ships components that help, but using them correctly is on you.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the kit or these terms is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or lost data.
Pricing
Prices are stated on the site and may change over time — launch pricing terms, where offered, are pre-registered and honored as published. Price changes never affect a purchase you've already made.
Acceptable use
Don't use the kit to build sites that are unlawful, deceptive, or designed to spam. We may decline to sell to, or revoke the license of (with a full refund), anyone using the kit for such purposes.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the effective date above always reflects the current version, and material changes will be noted on this page. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of the seller's residence.
